Lots more mortgage payments….The number of residential mortgages held in Ontario has almost tripled in the past 20 years, from about 600,000 in 1990 to 1.7 million today. But the percentage in arrears has stayed fairly constant, at well under 1%, says the Canadian Bankers Association.
